Why Plant a Church?

When people ask why we are planting Rally Point Church, our answer is simple: the need is urgent, the mission is clear, and the opportunity is right now.

1. We Need More Churches

Marquette County has around 88 congregations, but most are very small. Altogether, they only have enough room for about 10% of the county to gather on a Sunday morning. That means most of our neighbors don’t even have a seat if they wanted to worship, and God is bringing Revival!

We believe God is moving across our nation. Revival is stirring, and the next generation is hungry for truth and leadership. The Apostle Paul asked: “How are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?” (Romans 10:14–15). Planting Rally Point Church is about creating more space, more leaders, and more opportunities for people to encounter Jesus. We are going to train up the next generation.

2. We Want to Talk About Everything

Many churches avoid hard conversations, and when they do have them, almost none of them make it into the media space or the public voice of the church. That’s not us.

We live in a culture full of misinformation, distrust, and half-truths. If the Church doesn’t bring God’s Word into every sphere of life, who will? Jesus prayed: “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth” (John 17:17). And Paul charged Timothy: “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2).

At Rally Point Church, we will not avoid anything, because the Bible doesn’t avoid anything. We are committed to speaking truth with grace in our homes, schools, workplaces, communities, and yes—even politics.

3. We Believe in Planting Churches Across Michigan

From our launch day, Rally Point Church is designed to multiply. We are committing to give 20% of our budget directly to church planting across Michigan. More than that, we will train and send pastors with first-year budgets and teams, so they have the resources to succeed from day one.

This is the biblical model. In Acts, the church at Antioch “fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them and sent them off” (Acts 13:3). They released leaders to start new churches that spread the gospel.

Jesus said: “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14). We believe the best way to bring light into every dark place in Michigan is by planting gospel-centered churches who are committed to bringing the truth of God's word into every sphere of culture, community and life.

At Rally Point Church, we believe now is the time. God has called us to rise, to speak boldly, to live faithfully, and to plant churches that will impact Michigan for generations to come.
