The Story of Cain and Abel

In the Bible, two brothers named Cain and Abel brought gifts to God.

Cain gave some food he had grown.
Abel gave the first and best lamb from his flock.

God cared about more than the gift.
He looked at their hearts.

Abel trusted God and loved Him, and his gift showed it.
Cain became angry and jealous instead of changing his heart.

That’s sad—but it helps us understand something very important about the gospel.

God didn’t give us leftovers.
God gave us His best.
He gave us Jesus.

Because God loved us first, we can love Him back.

So here’s the big question for us:

Do we give God whatever is easy?
Or do we give Him our best because we love Him?

We don’t try to earn God’s love.
We respond to His love.

“We love Him because He first loved us.” – 1 John 4:19
